The massage room is private room. Before your massage, you will fill out an intake form and discuss any concerns with your therapist.. When entering the massage room, you’ll be asked to remove clothing to your level of comfort. Typically, everything but underwear, some go without.

The therapist will leave the room while you undress, remove any jewelry, eyeglasses, or other articles that might interfere with the massage. If you have long hair, bring a band or clip to put your hair up or we can provide one for you.

Lay on the massage table, underneath the provided sheet, which will cover your body except for the part being massaged. If you are cold, let us know! A blanket or heating pad will be provided.

The Environment:

Expect a peaceful and comfortable environment for the massage. The massage therapist may play music during the massage. Some people enjoy the music, and some don’t. If you prefer silence or different music, ask the massage therapist to turn off or change the music.

The Massage:

The massage technique used will depend on what you and the massage therapist determines is best for your massage. Please let the massage therapist know if the pressure is too much or too little.

The massage therapist may use oil or lotion.  If you are allergic to oils or lotions, let your massage therapist know before your massage begins. A powder might be available as an alternative.

A typical one hour massage includes your back, shoulders, arms/hands, legs/feet, neck and head. 30 Min massage usually consists of upper body, but any massage can be tailored to you wants or needs

Sessions usually are minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 90 minutes.

The end of the massage:

The massage therapist will allow you to slowly get up and get dressed in privacy. Drinking plenty of water is suggested after a massage. You may be sore the day after a massage. It is important to communicate the pressure during the massage to ensure you are not too sore the following days. You will feel relaxed, less pain, more flexible and have a general sense of well being! You may want a follow up appointment, Some people with chronic pain come weekly, most come once a month, some may only need a few times a year.
